Two New Soccer Scorebugs for the World Cup

Celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup with two new soccer overlay styles: Fox Soccer and 94 Classic.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off yesterday in North America, and honestly — we couldn't be more excited. Football fever is real at ScoreLayer. Half the team has already had their brackets blown up.

To celebrate, we're launching two new soccer overlay styles today.

Fox Soccer

Inspired by the clean, angular lower-thirds you see on Fox Sports MLS broadcasts. Each team gets an angled dark logo panel and a coloured name panel. The score sits in a light centre block in a large Teko font — dark text on a light background, sharp and readable at any stream resolution. The match clock sits to the right in a dark grey panel, and switches to FT automatically when the period is set to full time. Added time shows as a red +N block next to the clock.

There's also an optional competition name banner — a thin bar above the scoreline where you can type the event name ("2026 FIFA WORLD CUP", "MLS CUP", whatever the occasion calls for). It hides itself automatically when left empty.

Team colours and per-team text colour (black or white) are fully configurable from the control panel. Red cards are displayed as well.

94 Classic

This one is for the purists.

There was a time when turning on the TV in the middle of a match meant you did not know the score until the commentator mentioned it. That hasn't been the case for more than 30 years, but the very first scorebug was clean, minimal, and gave you only the minimum: who was playing, what the score was, and what the clock said.

If you're streaming youth football, a local cup, or just have a thing for retro broadcast aesthetics, this one's for you.

Both styles are available on all plans, including free, for any soccer scoreboard. Head to your control panel, switch the overlay style under your scoreboard settings, and you're live.

Happy streaming — and enjoy the tournament.
