Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 May 2025
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using ScoreLayer (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ScoreLayer ("we", "us", or "our"), the operator of ScoreLayer at scorelayer.live.
2. The service
ScoreLayer is a browser-based scoreboard overlay tool for live sports streams. It lets you create and control a transparent scoreboard overlay that can be added to streaming software such as OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or vMix as a browser source.
The Service includes a control panel (for managing the scoreboard during a match) and a shareable overlay URL (for use in streaming software). Both are accessed through a web browser; no software installation is required.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use the full Service. You are responsible for:
- ·Providing an accurate email address and keeping it up to date.
- ·Keeping your sign-in link and session secure.
- ·All activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Accounts are for individual use; you may not share your account credentials with others, though you may invite co-operators to control a scoreboard using the shared control panel link.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that are inactive for more than 12 months on a free plan, with prior notice by email.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- ·Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, including team logos you do not have the right to use.
- ·Use the Service to transmit unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content.
- ·Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or abuse the free tier (e.g. creating multiple free accounts to avoid paying).
- ·Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- ·Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend access without notice if we reasonably believe a violation has occurred.
5. Subscriptions and billing
ScoreLayer offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the stated price and interval.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing management page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
Refunds. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once a billing period has started. For annual subscriptions, if you cancel within 14 days of the initial purchase and have not made significant use of the Service, you may request a full refund by emailing support@scorelayer.live. If you opted into the annual plan and waived your 14-day right of withdrawal (as required during checkout), no refund is available.
Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase by email before it takes effect on your subscription.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you by email. Access may be restricted if payment remains outstanding after a reasonable grace period.
6. Your content
You retain full ownership of any content you upload to the Service, including team names, logos, and colors ("Your Content").
By uploading Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use Your Content for any other purpose.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to use and upload any logos or images. We accept no liability for intellectual property claims arising from content you upload.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its code, design, overlay styles, and brand assets, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our intellectual property other than the limited right to use the Service as described here.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or changes to features at any time.
If we decide to discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email and offer a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of a paid subscription period.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not responsible for the quality or reliability of third-party streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs, vMix, etc.), network conditions, or any interruption to your live stream caused by factors outside our control.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50 — whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or loss of data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or breach of consumer protection rights.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@scorelayer.live. Upon deletion, your personal data and uploaded content will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that is harmful to the Service or other users. Where possible, we will give prior notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.
Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION — e.g. Ireland]. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have access to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The updated Terms will also be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may cancel your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
