New Sports: Tennis and Pool Are Now Live
ScoreLayer now supports tennis and pool/snooker with dedicated overlay styles built for each sport's specific scoring needs.
When we launched ScoreLayer, we started with American football — it has the most complex scoreboard needs, so it was the right place to prove the system. Since then we've shipped soccer, flag football, and today we're adding two more: tennis and pool/snooker.
Both sports come with overlay styles built specifically for how their scoring works.
Tennis
Tennis scoring is notoriously unintuitive to display. Sets, games, points (with love/15/30/40/deuce/advantage), service indicators — it's a lot to fit on a lower-third.
The Tennis Scorebug shows:
- Set scores for both players across all sets in the match
- Current game score with proper point labels (0, 15, 30, 40, Deuce, Adv)
- Service indicator — a small marker showing who is serving
The control panel handles all the tennis-specific logic. Tap to increment a point and the scoreboard handles the game/set/match progression automatically. You don't need to manually calculate whether 40–40 becomes Deuce.
Tennis clubs, padel clubs, and academy coaches running broadcast days can now give every match a proper TV-style scorebug in seconds.
Pool and snooker
Pool and snooker have a different challenge: the score is simple (frame wins or ball counts), but broadcasts are typically landscape with the scoreboard as a lower-third bar that doesn't obstruct the table view.
We ship three styles for pool/snooker:
Compact Lower Third — A minimal bar at the bottom showing player names and frame score. Ideal for 16:9 layouts where you want maximum table visibility.
Tournament Lower Third — A slightly wider bar with the match name and race-to count visible. Better for multi-match tournament streams where context matters.
Vertical Side Bug — A vertical scoreboard for streams that prefer to keep the bottom of the frame clear. Sits on the left or right edge and shows frames, balls remaining, and a run counter.
Pool leagues, snooker clubs, and the growing pool-streaming community on Twitch and YouTube can now run a proper overlay without custom graphics work.
What's next
We're continuing to work through the sport catalog. Basketball and volleyball are the most-requested additions currently in development and should be available this june (2026).
If your sport isn't listed yet and you're streaming it regularly, let us know via the support page — actual demand is what drives the priority list.
